Alien Planet Evolution

Welcome, fellow archvists.

It has come to our attention that some serious changes have started occuring within the Megalium system, located a little further along our arm of the galaxy. The fourth planet of the system has so far been classified as a Cryoplanet, however now that designation needs to be changed.

Within the last millions of years, a great rise in volcanic activity has lead to the breaking of the ice sheets along the equator, as well as a continious release of greenhouse gases. Since then, the ice has been slowly retreading while the planet's temperature rises.

Whats more important, in the oceans that have emerged from under the eternal ice we have found the most surprising of wonders - life. Not only did life evolve under the ice sheets, but it is multicellural life, a true rarity in the cosmos.

Due to monumental changes, we have decided to change the way we archive the history of the world. Everything before the recent event will be henceforth classified as the Cryozoic Eon, while from now on we are witnessing the beginning of the new age, the Vitazoic Eon. Within Vitazoic, we recognize the start of the Eozoic Era, and its first Perioid - the Cryoclastic era.

With the new focus on the development of the new world, you, my friends, are therefore assigned to observe the evolution of the newly freed life of the planet.
