Dungeons. Tombs, mines, ruined cities, monster lairs, wizard towers, occasionally prisons. Anomalies to surface logic and bane to surface dwellers, dungeons are the last refuge of the villainous, the outcast, the monstrous. There are those who pilfer its depths for treasure and lost knowledge. And then there are those who live among them, laying claim to the dungeon itself, in part or in whole.

>Scaleborn: The supposed descendants of dragons, the majority now enslaved by the smoothborn races. They grow more powerful as their treasure hoard grows.
>Cloneling: The product of a forbidden magic, a perfect homunculus made in the image of its sorcerous master. It lacks only two things: scent, and humanity. Curiosity is its driving force.
>Copycat: A minor mimic which can shape itself to any creature it has tasted. The more it eats, the more powerful it becomes.
>Gnome: The diminutive sorcerers of the previous age, who commanded demons by their true names. The gnomarchy has fallen but may be revived yet.
