We're going to try to keep this as short as possible. You were once one person, at birth, but for your health and safety, were split in two shortly after. For twenty years, these halves worked as allies, before a disagreement grew between us. We lived our separate lives for three years afterward, before deciding to once again join as one. You are the result of these two people. You are joined by Iris One Loveday, also known as the Captain. She was our childhood friend and knows us better than can be considered reasonable, and will fill you in on any necessary details of your life. The only thing you are not allowed to know are any of your previous names. You will choose a name, as is custom, but for now you don't need to worry about that. Here's some basic details to get you going, and to not bore the Captain with your questions.
-You are a powerful magic user, called a caster. Almost certainly the most powerful in the galaxy, though it may take you a bit to regain your former power.
-You are also a saint, a magical being separate from being a caster, though they are not mutually exclusive. What you are a saint of will become clear with time.
-You are a lover of art, specifically art from a long dead planet called Earth. Your philosophy and guiding principle was that everything people did was art, and trying to find that bit of art in everyone.
-Your main goal is complicated, but in essence, it is to show two demiurges this human art, this beauty intrinsic to life.
-For the purposes of this goal, you employ many people whose art you particularly enjoy.
Your life will certainly be difficult, but it is our hope that, finally joined together, two halves of a whole will prove a more effective artist than a soul split in twain.

Iris turns to you and lays down a plate of egg batter toast, a dish with butter and a container of syrup. "That's for you, you're probably starving." She pulls a cigarette from somewhere and snaps her fingers, a flame igniting on her thumb which she uses to light it. "Any questions? I can imagine this is quite overwhelming."
