Following the success LA One Piece, Netflix was convinced to buy the rights to Legend of Galatic Heroes and ordered a 20-million backdoor pilot. You have been selected to be a co-showrunner, your goal (with other co-showrunners) is to manage the budget, cast characters, and sets, write treatment, and storyboard. While Netflix does not care how faithful the product is (or if have even seen LOGH), there are certain mandates that must be included. Such as:>afromentioned 20 million budget >run time of no longer than 120 minutes >certain number of sex and action scenes >diversity demands (diversity is determined by the actor's race, size of role, and character's sexuality) Actors and their pay are determined by grades:>A-list, 500K >B-list, 250K >C-list, 100K >D-list, 50K Characters are classified by prominence, which defines, in how many scenes they can appear, and multiple actor's wage>main role, 90 scenes, 10 × wage >regular role, 50 scenes, 5 × wage >supporting role 30 scenes, 2.5 × wage >minor role, 10 scenes, 1 × wage >guest role, 1 scene, 0.5 × wage

>>5759768 The diversity system works like this.
The diversity score needs to be 0 or higher.
>every white man -1 diversity >every actress +2 diversity >every gay character +5 diversity >every trans-actor +10 diversity >every black actor +5 diversity >every Asian actor +2 diversity >every Latino actor +1 diversity You might wonder what character you need for the pilot?
Well, that's up to you, Netflix gives you absolute freedom to do anything, even if it is only remotely related to LOGH.

>>5759774 >You might wonder what character you need for the pilot? What I ACTUALLY wonder is why you still live.

>>5759779 Don't be like that anon, this is just light-hearted fun.

>>5759787 Interesting concept but I wont play a game with diversity mechanic. Its unfun.

Wow, an other thinly veiled political """"quest"""""

>>5759774 Do white Latinos count as Latino or white?
Anonymous
>>5760127 Latinos count as latinos
so, even if Latino is black, you only get +1 diversity point
Anonymous
>>5760129 That's a great loophole then
Here's what I would do for a start:
>All actors are D-listers taken straight from the theatre >Yang-wen li is, obviously, cast as an Asian >His wife is raceswapped to Asian and they have sex(one major deviation from the source material) >Reinhard is played by a blond Latino from Argentine who is descended from German immigrants, as is Reinhard's sister, who is given a more prominent role than the source material >Reuenthal is played by a mixed race actor (counts as black because of the one drop rule) to better express his mixed heritage >Mashengo is cast by a pure blooded African, and is also gay(this is only stated in his character bio and in interviews, with the most shown in the show being the tension with Julian) Generaly the free planets Alliance is more diverse than the empire, since the Empire is stated to have started of as racist chuds

Do disabled characters get diversity points as well?
Oberstein for example, is blind and possibly autistic, how many diversity points would he get?
Also, do the diversity points get multiplied by prominence?
For example, if I gave a main role to trans-actor, would the diversity points get multiplied 10x10?

>>5760134 >>His wife is raceswapped to Asian and they have sex(one major deviation from the source material) so, for this backdoor pilot you are going to adapt later part of the series or are you going to retcon their marriage pre-show?
>Do disabled characters get diversity points as well? Autistic male characters get +1, which compensates for -1 for being white male
Disabled/autistic female characters get +5
Also muscular/chubby/fat female actors get +2
while muscular male actors get -1
>Also, do the diversity points get multiplied by prominence? No, it count as same even if it's main role or if they appear in one scene.

>>5760148 For the pilot I'd probably do a straightforward adaptation of maybe the first 2-4 episodes
It's been a long time since I've seen the anime so I don't really remember what happens, so I'll leave the rest to the other anons
>so, for this backdoor pilot you are going to adapt later part of the series or are you going to retcon their marriage pre-show? The sex will probably happen in later episodes
>Autistic male characters get +1, which compensates for -1 for being white male Alright then, Oberstein is the same as he in the anime, a white man born blind, but is also stated to be autistic in the official website
>No, it count as same even if it's main role or if they appear in one scene. So I can just make the entire government of the free planets alliance a bunch of black trannies and then I won't have to worry about diversity points anymore?
Anonymous
As for diversity hire a bunch of trans black gay actresses as background actors then you should have a good amount of remaining diversity points. Keanu Reeves as the main character, Jennifer Lawrence as main girl
Anonymous
Gingers should give you a -10 on the diversity score. The only red I want to see is the skin of some 7% Cherokee floozy.

If actor won Oscar or Emmy, they are A-list
If actor was nominated for Oscar or Emmy, they are B-list
If actor was at least in 3 major movies (major movies is movie with +50 million budget), they are C-list
If nothing else applies they are D-tier

>>5759774 Well since it's trans actors, not characters, we just find every trans actor Hollywood has and cast them into whatever role they are suited for. Keeps us from twitter nobodies whining about raceswapping and/or gay agenda.
(The only trans actor I know of is Elliot Page though. Cast him as Kircheiss).
For action scenes we do some space-axe fighting. Now what to do with sex scenes, I don't know. Maybe put some between Friedrich and Annerose.

Quoted By:
Can we agree on Elle Fanning as Annerose? She would count as A-list, and get +2 diversity points. I guess we won't need her for many scenes, so if just put her guest role (1 scene), she would only cost 250K.
Anonymous
>>5759774 Hmm, can we just get all the diversity out of the way by giving the minimum number of scenes to be considered actors to a planet of black trannies and then just have them get nuked or launched into the sun using an acceleration engine like they did for the planet sized fortress?
Then we can get back to America in space Vs the German-Britosh Empire strikes back that is the kino OG series
