Most of it is of him preaching, creating art, spending time with close friends, and helping his tribe maintain food and keep safe.
And then, near the end, his memories become mostly ones of intense torture, fire, fear, and finally him being nailed to a cross surrounded by burning books.
One memory pops out to you, mostly because it happened the very night before The Priest was crucified.
It's nighttime, and The Priest sits next to his friend, whose name is Jerok.
"Doe, do you think the god the love guys worship ever gets mad that we like light instead?" Jerok asks. Seems The Priest's name is Doe.
"Well, I was talking to some of those guys the other day, and I wouldn't think so! They're always talking about love, and acceptance, and not getting angry. I'm sure God is a nice guy. Especially if he made them."
Jerok sighs.
"But he made all the bad things too."
Doe laughs.
"There ARE no bad things, friend. Or at least, not really."
Jerok is confused. "How are there no bad things? What about death?"
"Death is just a part of life, and in some cases the start of it. Did you know when a dead body gets all rotten, and all the fleshy bits disappear, those fleshy bits go into the ground, and can make things like flowers and grass grow?"
Jerok looks down.
"No, I didn't.
"Well, now you do! Nothing the light shines on can be all bad, friend."
It's silent for a moment.
"There is no light right now, though... The sky is dark, and has no light in it."
Doe frowns. "Ah, you're right. Well, I'm confident that'll change one day. Y'know what? I bet the night sky will one day be filled with all kinds of lights and colors! Who knows? Maybe we'll live to see it? Maybe even that God guy will be the one to do it!"
Jerok laughs.
"Maybe. I'd like to see that."
"Me too, friend. Me too."
The memories after this consist of The Priest the morning before his execution, and the execution itself.
