You are Nicole Smith, a young woman with various anomalous abilities such as telekinesis and body puppeteering. You are a <span class="mu-s">Cleaner</span>. From meaningless errands, to exploration, to contract killing, to everything in between, you work in all manner of jobs as a deniable asset to the Companies of the City.
Your goal? To get enough money, influence, power, and/or allies to break free of this dangerous and barely respected career path , to become something bigger in the City. So far, your missions have been successful. You have rescued a young man named Benjamin that was kidnapped by a gang. He was more than willing to join as an ally when you promised him to train him in your anomalous powers. You're not quite sure if you CAN do that but you can try.
You followed this up by preventing a chef of a failing restaurant from turning into some sort of Anomaly and killing the people around him. While he wasn't fully cured, you earned the favor of both your Handler (who assigns you missions) and the best friend of the Chef, Adam. He owes you a massive favor for saving both his and his best friend's lives.
Currently, your mission is to hunt down and kill the gang who kidnapped Benjamin. Not because of that but because they pissed off your Handler, a rich and powerful man. Turns out they broke into his house and he MIGHT be involved in a blood feud with a boss of theirs. After investigating his house and having to put down some of the gangsters in question, you are now trying to find their base.
This is where the story picks up now. You can only hope you can complete this mission as well as the other ones you did. It's the only way to make quick cash in the City and that's one of the few things that is certain in it.
