https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbD_kBJc_gIIt's with a swing in his hip and a pep in his step that Chaser greets the new day,
the dulcet tones of David Switchblade coming from the brand new turntable as he exits the shower.
"Maybe things are finally looking up for me." he thinks to himself as he grabs a morning Joe and toast.
He was tempting fate, he knew that, but he couldn't bring himself to care:
the last heist went, while not perfectly (the memory of the deceased is still fresh), surprisingly well for something so high profile and that meant that he was positively swimming in cash (he even renovated the house!);
the Boys were making a name for themselves and making him proud in the process, despite using blood money he was giving them a new opportunity to dodge trouble;
his patients were making steady progress, nevermind the vitriol and disdain in their eyes, so he was gonna chalk that one as a win and maybe even as something that'll make his karma as a killer for hire a just little bit lighter;
dulcis in fundo, the newly established relationship with Seline...
Even if the rational part of his brain spoke of risks and bad decisions, in the privacy of his home he couldn't deny he felt giddy like a kid on a school trip.
Still, as he looked at the case of the latest movie he bought ("Exit the Tiger", last masterpiece of Dragon Lee, which saw the debut of his son Bradley and coincidentally a cameo from David Switchblade himself.) a few worries bubbled up.
The underground fighting circuit, the ghosts from Grenada, but more importantly Project Phoenix.
Trouble was brewing.
