It heals the wounds of people and Pokémon by sprinkling them with its sparkling scales. This guardian deity is worshiped on Akala. It said to has an unpredictable and mischievous nature and can cause harm instead of aid at times." Its staring at you. Like directly at you. Not Mallow. You. "Wow...She must see something special in you." Mallow whispers in your ear. "The Guardian Deities rarely acknowledge tourists."

i mean in some of the early pokemon anime seasons you can see fish in an Aquarium. But Slowpoke Tail is supposed to be a delicacy. so sure. lathered in honey?

you can probably eat goldeen, Cloister and other pokemon. Guess where they are getting their steaks and milk from.

This has always been a bit of a funny plot hole. If it can be ethically sourced from pokemon it usually is and with tons of attention drawn to it. Otherwise it’s either a joke, a plot point, or simply kept ambiguous, though supposedly some Pokédex entries refer to eating pokemon and to non-pokemon wildlife existing. I vaguely remember Slowpoke Tail used to be considered cruel, but recently it’s been retconned to grow back quickly enough to basically be harmless because it ended up being so iconic. I say go with whatever’s easiest.

I would assume they would eat old slowpokes that died of natural causes or flayed pokemon like magikarp for dinner as pokemon are common enough not to cause guilt over harvesting the herbivores.

Apparently Slowpoke Tails just… fall off sometimes? So it’s creating this weird catch 22 for the cops where Slowpoke Tails aren’t illegal but cutting them off is. Imagine just having a goddamn Slowpoke ranch where you just let them live their lives waiting for their tails to fall off…

And supposedly Magikarp taste awful, just to round out how useless they are. Farfetch’d on the other hand are so delicious they were nearly hunted to extinction!

you might wanna try to get away from these one or two line responses. some more description would be neat about how the kitchen is furnished and maybe how she moves around in there. something about how she is secure and knows this place very well. stuff like that.

You've never been in a kitchen before. You find the entire experience interesting to look at. Mallow moves sharp knives of various shapes and sizes with a practiced ease. The room is nothing but counters, drawers, and a huge fridge. There is a walk in freezer and the whole place smells like herbs and smoke. You see her making a simple stew with the ingredients and she seems to not mind the heat at all. "I hear in Paldea there is a Pokemon that can make its own chili sauce. I'd love to try it out. Have you ever wanted to visit another region? Besides Alola of course!" She asks as she chops up some berries.

Help out by offering to hand her utensils or spices she wants while observing how she sears and prepares the meat. Check if maybe she has some berries for your pokemon to have a bit of a snack before food to stoke their appetite.

"Anyways I made enough for two and some for you to take home." Mallow pours some reddish brown broth with loads of chopped berries and onions inside and bits of tail meat. "We have a few hours before they come for dinner rush." She takes the bowls with a practiced ease to a table. "I hope water is okay." She sets it up. "So tell me how it is?" She seems genuinely enthusiastic to see how you like the food. Its rather spicy but also sweet and savory. You begin to sweat a bit from the spice.

Yup I agree. For a tourist destination Star is basically a difficulty tweet for tourists that accidentally find and battle him. The only reason Amon is not afraid is that he dealt with worse on the streets.

"In Alola its not legal to fly around with your Pokemon without a special license. We aren't sure why...but on occasion the Island Deities get really mad if they see someone they don't recognize flying around. So the Kahunas worked on this system that special Ride Pokemon are approved. There are whole facilities and taxi services that are nationalized by the goverment....I read that in a brochure once. Interesting stuff. Of course if your really strong or you have the approval of the deities I guess you don't really need a license...even if its illegal. I know Stars rides his Altaria around without a care in the world. As a Trial Captain I get personal access to the Ride Pokemon free of charge. Hop on. I'll take you to my house on Poni Island.
