The vessel that comes to view is a strange one, painted white, a cylinder body with a orange disk in its front, sprouting from its side is 2 more cylinders on pylons with yellowish glowing domes on their fronts. At the end of its neck to the front is a saucer like structure, from the angle the name of the vessel can be seen in High Gothic scrip.

The meeting of the explorers was fine but the sub-space explosions is rather lame for me. I would had prefered for the 40k guys to be a singular anomaly that simply happened once due to wierd shit that is common in both 40k and Trek, rather than some continuous event. Also, it's a little contradictory. Eldars talked about not feeling Slaanesh anymore but Tzeentch apparently can influence stuff in Star Trek? If it was the case of ''Oh, Tzeentch exist but not Slaanesh'' fine, but 40k Galaxy is mentioned by the Chaos dude ''

Brian feel like he should feel fear, fear like when he’s boss asked hem who stole the spare rations, like when the Captain had Armsmen ask hem who was spreading the joke about he’s hat. Even at times when he didn’t do anything the fear was there- but here, it’s different. These people, they are not like he’s fellow Imperials. He is worried, he is concerned, but fear- it’s not there.

Federations has diplomatic, if uneasy, relations with Tholians, which are species of crystal-based spiders, Sheliak who don't even consider Humans to be sapient but Federation still was able to make treaty that both sides respect, Medusans who literally drive anyone who looks at them insane and many others, minor species. Also, non-Humanoid species belong to Federation, Edosian have six-limbs, Hamalki are giant transparent crabs or Nasats who are cowardly, tailed and bipedal woodlice.

Zap, zap, zap

One by one the wires are cut until the marine hemself can get onto the floating platform. Copper and gold clatter to the floor below, tho Brian sees even Zana pocketing some of the scrap riches along with himself, not a single Federation member seem to care about the valuable metals just falling from the sky.

The proud warrior of the Emperor stands tall even as he’s platform lowers and moves, keeping an eye on the Federation personnel as the boarding team themselves have their weapons at the ready. He’s battered armor and chugging power pack still menace the stoic Armsmen.

When the marine reaches the ground he look around at the Federation Armsmen. He see the fear in their eyes but see them still resolute. He himself may not know fear but these mortals seem capable to stare it down as well as any Catichan or Cadian.

The Lementer go over to the table and grab he’s Bolter. ‘’Captain Carlos’’ the Marine states without looking at the mortal man ‘’I advise that you and your fellow humans repent sooner than later. Not all of my cousins are so, tactical, in who they fight’’ he warns

‘’I will keep that in mind’’ reply the Captain ‘’just know that we don’t demand such… compliance. Live how you live Marine, what you do on your worlds is your business’’

‘Often there’s disagreement on who owns what worlds Caption’’ the marine says as he finish checking he’s brutal weapon ‘’such disagreement is why the Emperor created us.’’ He finishes.

The marine grab the printout of the map for the Space Hulk and walks down the twisted and rotten halls.

‘’What?’’ The captain asks as he grab the tricorder to verify ‘’this kind of stuff is why I am in Border Patrol’’

As Brian help to put away the equipment for travel, something catches he’s eyes. In the hilt of a corpse sitting in a golden and silk chair is a sward. Its hilt is made of a purple wood, wood itself being such a rare and valuable material, and encrusted at the pulmal with a soft glowing gem akin to the large one that was on the Eldar child. It’s scabbier is remarkably preserved with imagery of a brave Commissar slaying orks.

The strange gem look almost identical to the largest of the gems that was on the Eldar child. Maybe cut slightly differently and glowed more.

He is unfamiliar with Soul Stones or anything Eldar, the closest is once hearing that there was a Xenos that move so wrong that it hurt to see.

It’s a accented voice, not aided by the translator. A voice of no source but inside he’s own head. A voice that gives hem a pain where he never felt pain before in he’s brain.

The blade shocks the Voidman with unnatural energy, forcing he’s hand to grip tightly on the object. The blue archs gliding harmlessly over he’s cloths yet still striking he’s very nerves with energies men was never ment to weld

The voidman managed to use he’s free hand to pry open the hand gripping the strange beautiful blade. The voice and pain is replaced by screaming. It’s not until a hand lands on he’s shoulder that he realize the screaming was he’s own and that he was forced to he’s knees.

‘’Brian’’ the voidman hear, a voice that dose not echo in he’s head. He turns and see the familiar face of Zana, her previous scorn replaced by concern and fear.

Someone else, Dr Caten, kicks the blade away from the Voidman, an action that causes more of those blue sparks to erupt from the gem. ‘’GET THAT THING CONTAINED’’ yells the Caption as 2 Science Officers slam an hazard crate over it.

‘’Brian?’’ Zana asks

‘’I’m fine, I’m fine. Just, shocked me.’’ The voidman says to the tech woman as he slowly stands up. Noticing the feline doctor hovering a small cylinder connected by a wire.

‘’Whatever that was it went straight to your Hippocampus and Limbic system’’ the feline states.

The Volcan woman thinks for a moment before she approaches the box with Romanove joining her

‘’have this item secured, we need to study it. If there’s more of items like these- we must know how to find them and disable them.’’

At the mention of ‘item’ another Eldritch Thunder roars from the box, something that causes the eyebrow or the Volcan to raise in an eyebrow.

‘’Ma’am. I believe it is responding to us’’ the Xenos says.

‘’There been stories of relics able to follow voice commands without the use of servitors’’ the tech-priest states ‘’lost designs form the Dark Age of technology’’

‘’I hypothesized it might be more that that Zana’’ the Volcan says ‘’my people are able to meld minds with-‘’

‘’Wait- you’re a Phyker- all of you Volcans are?’’ The voidman interrupts, taking a step back along with Zana.

‘’We have some Telepathic abilities that requires physical contact’’ the knife eared phyker says in a monotone expected of her people. ‘’I presume this ‘Phyker’ terminology refers tot that’’

The longer I am around these, Federalists, the more disgusted I am of these people. Their heretech is powerful, they need no ritual or prayers to operate them. Not for their Laz pistols, or ‘Phasers’, not for their doors nor engines, if they wish to modify something they simply gut their devices and preform the actions. They work with, mingle with, and even, produce offspring with, Xenos, the last likely aided by some abomination of a device. They have no god nor faith, no belief other than for the selfish betterment of themselves. They are decadent, the humans of this federation is neither master nor slave of the Xenoses, nor do they have any such. A human can command a Xenose and a Xenose can command a human, abominable.

They claim to be the origin point for humanity, even call their home star Sol and their 4th planet Mars. They are nieve of the Ork and of the warp dipite able to travel the stars using something akin to it. Tho the humans count no Phykers among them- many of their, ‘’Xenos equals’’ do, namely the pointed ear Volcans. They will likely try to pervert our devices with their own ways if given a chance.

They are foolishly open to others about knowledge about themselves, not their technology but of their organization and society. If the Imperium can stomach allowing them to continue for a time- I Advise further efforts to gather data so that they can be purged more efficiently.

Brian’s Fed Corruption; 1.5; Supportive of some Fed Ideals adopted by the Imperium.

Brian walks down the, truthfully, well constructed bridge made from scrap metal slowly and alone. A part of the voidman is impressed by the practical ingenuity of whomever built this to last.

Looking down at the hanger bay Brian can see many caved in layers of flight decks covered in Imperial void crafts long forgotten, the area illuminated by ancient glow rods and luman globes. Its large exit blocked by an asteroid. He can see movement around one collection of old craft and lights, likely inhabitants of this hulk.

The voidman reaches the other side of the bridge, looking around he feels watched, until lumans around the gates lights up, exposing the gothic writing above the door way;

‘’Come all who need mercy, come who need aid. The Lord provides’’ the voidman read out loud.

‘A strange message’ Zana says over the coms, the federation vox-bead in Brian’s Ear. ‘Sounds religious’ Keven says.

Taking a deep breath the voidman continues to step forward, when he was about to knock on the gates a small eyes slit opens.

A pair of purple colored human eyes look at the man, protected by what the imperial recognized as armored glass used on Imperial vessels.

‘’Good Day sir, what are your intentions? What is your needs?’’ Ask the person.

‘’We are a rescue party, we wish to pass by your territory to provide our own ‘mercy’ onto others’’ the Voidman answers

‘’You’re Imperial, but who are the others, the plain, colorful, and… Abhuman?’’ The person asks- the last word more of a question within a question. ‘’Or Xenos?’’

‘’people of the United Federation of Planets, your home landed in their territory’’ Brian answers. ‘’But they seem- unbothered by it.’’

‘’we felt the Lord guide us and rested us. Already they sound more merciful than the Tau, even tho their music is nice. Dose these Imperial follow the Imperial Creed?’’ The man asks. ‘’Do they know the of the Emperor?’’

Zana stew among the filthy Federalists. Trying to stay out of their way as she look around for.. opportunities. To do the real task her and Brian was given.

These fools are open about their technology, and have no rituals to speak of. Surely it would be easy to sabotage them while they wait to hear from Brian.

Zana;

- sabotage the hover-dollies. Most are loaded with equipment and items the Feds found for future research. One of them are loaded with spare dollies. She knows where to Tome for them are kept at each one- but lacks the cogitator to translate it (Hard)
- Sabotage Coms, Zana find the Federation Vox system easy to use, and found a tome for the ‘communicator’ variant she was given. These people seem to freely give out religious tomes (Medium)
- Sabotage supplies, there’s several boxes of supplies. That can be tampered with. (pick from Food,Medical,weapons, or Tools, Medium)
- Sabotage the bridge, there’s several anchor points that Zana can get to without obvious notice (Easy)
- Hold off on Sabotage.

I need some 1D20s. DC to pass is 16, some effect will still happen at 14. DC to be unnoticed is 17.

Each hover dolly is a L-shape collapsible, inter-attachable device with a compartment for a durable user manual on a data pad with a database based translating software to save power (can translate saved languages, Gothic is not saved). They work by being powered by a quad lithium battery, with a standard Federation utility operating system (simple to follow when plugged in), and small utilize grav-antigravity generators that can be manipulated for movement in all 6 directions. Each one contains panels that can be reattached to turn it into an open top box cart. Crew Tricorders and crew Communicators are set up to control them remotely, Zana is equipped with a Guest Communicator.

The cursed power sward is in a hover dolly with nothing else on it. The box it is in is easy to open.

The sun-deprived man is in a old battered Imperial Gard armor, it’s Aquilas removed but the shoulder iconography remained- he’s old battle scared face tho worn, but full of life, he is reasonably well fed and fit for a veteran of he’s age. If Brian have to guess the man is 50 or 60.

‘’You’re a Cadian?’’ The voidman says.

‘’Is that a- kind of Abhuman’’ Keven asks only to produce a chuckle from the old Gardsmen.

Past 3 layers of defenses the group get to a cramp but organized shanty town. Made up of scavenged materials of the wreck and filling a large storage area. Reclaimed wires connect home to home to provide lighting and heat, hanging from above a large fan like device blows purified air into the area. Whatever time it is for these people it’s working hours with children playing in the makeshift streets as their parents work their crafts.

Like any other town it haves multiple buildings, a bar, shops, homes, green houses. The frame above every doorway is painted red. Pass a open door to one workshop a large brute of a man is working on a Gutenberg style printing press, in another a human woman is hammering iron heated by a coil of metal into tools. People haggle and trade among each other. Everyone is adorn in simple clothings that covers their bodies with long sleeves, the women adorn in either long skirts or pants that go to the ankles. Here Humans walks freely alongside Abhumans of all types. The wayward who found themselves trap on this vessel.

The purple eye man grab a few cups from next to a spiket and fill it with clean water before handing it to the 3 men, the 2 Federation men drinks the water.

‘’The Teacher will be here in a moment. So Captain Carlos, you’re here to rescue some people, who precisely?’’ The Gardsmen asks.

‘’The Tau- we received a transmission from them for aid’’ the captain says

‘’Never heard of them before today’’ the Federation captain respond‘’

‘’That is some Lordly action there. Mornfuly we couldn’t help them. We needed all of our people here until the Orcs and the devil Worshipers weaken eachother enough that we can strike them down’’ the man says with a ting of sadness ‘’The lord provides- but we must not test hem’’

Keven seems to be in deep thought as he look around- almost like he barely recognizes something about this place.

The Zana takes a deep breath, fear form her last memories forcing the air into her lungs. A numbness fills her, no not a numbness she realizes. She finds herself laying on a soft cot of Federation make.

‘’What… what happened?’’ the tech priestest asks herself out loud before she grab her face- her very lungs unlabored ‘’wh-‘’ she stops herself- realizing that she herself is speaking, not the vocalizer the device is still there but her vocal cords are repaired after half a decade. Gone is the effort ever since she was exposed to vapors in a water purification accident. Gone is the slight sting with every breath of air. Gone is the face mask. She go to grab as the missing device on her face and sees her left arm- her mechanical metal arm replaced by sleek cerimite, the interconnected panels mimicking a human arm. Curiosity replace where fear as the woman move the new Augmetic, every finger able to bend completely backwards and forward, every joint able to move 360 degrees. For the first time since she was 15 she can feel her own fingers. Touch and grasp.

‘’Wh- oh’’ she says- remembering hat happened. The last thing she remembered was opening a panel on top of the hovering cart to try to disable the ‘safety system’ of the heretical device. she was interrupted by Dr Caten- the abominable Xeno. After that only pain and suffocation after being flung upwards and smashing into the decaying ceiling.

Seeing an object on a side table with a plate of food. The shocked Machine cultist grabs it with her new arm. With trembling fingers she grabs onto the mirror to see the existent of the horrors thrusted on her.

Her skin, once pale is now a vibrant healthy white, her hair shaven short, Her Imperial augmetic eye remind but the skin around the holy improvement is unblemished. Under the blanket that covers her she is in a white gown, right below her neck a healing scar can be seen- one that should take weeks to heal as such but her internal chrono states that she only been out for a few hours.

Summoning on her internal cogitator the woman can see the status of her augments, both sanctioned and… new…

Her battery pack had been replaced by an Federation equivalent. Ten times the power possible output and charge yet half the weight. Her nutrient regulator is gone, the damage to the organ healed. her heart aid is functioning perfectly as opposed to… acceptable ever since she salvaged it from a defunct Servitor. Her Lung Pumps replaced by a pair of artificial lungs of Federation make, Labeled as ‘’Multi-Species compatible replacement Lung series A Mk 23’’. Somehow the Federation parts are working seamlessly with the Mechanicus parts, and the Mechanicus parts seemed to have been seamlessly repaired. Gone is the rust and grime- gone is the acceptable bucking of the spirits. When she try to appraise the spirit of the Federation parts she find indexes as simple and open as the Federalists themselves. In both cases, something small scale concentrating on obscure things, like minor species and factions. A random space station in some backwater part of space, far away from eveything else in the universe. It would be episodic, slice of life and animated to keep it relatively cheap and less restrained with the designs. Just showing the weird life common people in Star Trek/40k live.

Zana takes a deep breath and begins singing a rite to herself. Her Vitals return to a normal baseline as she calms down.

Star Trek: Gulliver's travels-Roddenberry himself was inspired by it, Secularism: The True Philosophy of Life - An Exposition and a Defence-the title says it all, The Five Books of the Lives and Deeds of Gargantua and Pantagruel-fairly vulgar but more importantly satirical work criticising harsh and strict social norms and things like poor treatment of students so I think the spirit of those books would be appreciated by United Federation of Planets and finally the original Utopia by Thomas More for the idea of Utopia itself and from Federalistic perspective to strive for it.
Warhammer 40k: Honestly, very little, I guess Odyssey and Trojan War or The Song of Roland and Turpin Chronicle and Saint George myth together with other Greco-Roman and Classical Christian myths. Of course, all edited with Gods in Greek stories being replaced by Saints or Primarchs and stuff like sex with mortals or arguing who is more beautiful also being removed, for Christian myths it would be far easier to edit in Emperor and name-swap Saints. I can also imagine Imperials enjoying Starship Troopers, both book and movies, book is pro-war and movies are exaggerated enough that their saitre would flight past Imperials heads.

Basically yes. That's what I'm going with. I was inspired by this in particular:

People, usually, don't switch their entire worldview within few hours, I wanted to show Brian still clinging to Imperium, due to being everything he knew in life, while still showcasing that those new people and things intrigue him and he sees them as good. He tries to reconcile what he was taught ''those are heathens and witchcraft!'' and what he feels ''those people are good and those things are amazing'', so the answer must be that, Emperor actually approves of those things and if this dude does miracles, then it must mean he actually still serves Emperor and is just mistaken about Jehova identity.

From the darkness of the corridor the Bardsman of the FOB can hear a thumping of heavy foot steps as a figure with 2 glowing eyes can be seen.

‘’Welcome to FOB Tan’’ the other says as the modified warrior gets closer. ‘’I can show you to your shuttle’’

‘’I did not expect you people to actually have checkpoints’’ the marine states as he is led to the FOB proper.

The facility have been repurposed as a field hospital and evacuation point. A half dozen shuttles are readied as 100 Federation personnel ensure its safety and security. Rows of cots obscured by white sheets are prepared as a small storage room is repurposed as a makeshift surgery bay. In one corner a pile of junk remained if the previous mess. items and detritus not worth sending back to the Federation vessels.

Next to the box like Federation shuttles is the plane-like shuttle of the Imperials. Its cockpit blacken out in a manner common for pilots trying to capture some sleep.

The giant yellow armored man scans every he sees, the in built sensors of the suits detecting several antiquated forms of sensor technology. ‘’Relax Sir, this is a humanitarian position.’’

‘’Yet you plan on using it to aid Xenoses’’ the Marine ‘’and appear to already be doing so’’

Both the best and the worst go to 40k. 40k has some genuinely cool things out there, the timespan alone offers plenty of creativity and creating yourdudes in the setting, but there's also do much dumb shit and retcons as well. I'm not saying fart clouds seducing the same family for centuries isn't dumb but for me, 40k still beats Star Trek in it.

Oh definitely, tho I think Trek handles Retcons/later Watsonian explanations better, I think they are about equally good for what they were made for- but I think Warhammer is a little further on the bad side due to the dumb retcons VS good retcons. I think the biggest bad spot for Trek is that time kept ticking (the Eugenics Wars was supposed to happen in the 90’s), and they had a choice to eaither diverge or adapt. I think they should have let thing diverged in the timeline if that makes sense.

- Think they are in some, alternate realm. There’s been wispers of such a thing among some insane radicals of the Inquisition- tho most assume that it referred to exceptionally unknown parts of the warp if not outright hearsay
- This must be some trick of the Xenose, perhaps Caten or the Federation found some Dark Age archive impossibly preserved. But then- why? To what ends?

‘’Sir- stay or go you d-‘’

Before the Federation’s excuse of a Armsman could finish, the Angel of Death is already rushing to the checkpoint where already a buzz of activity have started, some crew rushing away, other rushing to.

14 ‘Borders’ armed with the sleek Federation Laz gun fire from over the professionally made barricades, made from cut scrap metal and Tau deployable baracades. A few of the human and Xenos Federalist are being treated behind the cover. Most of the injuries seem to be from gunshots and spear jabs. With one of them getting a spear removed from their leg.

The long dark hallway 21 dead bodies of chaos tainted humans can be seen, all grotesque, mutated, and in rags along with rusted makeshift armor. Covered in arcane runes both of paint and of scars. Some armed with auto guns, others in Imperial like Laz guns, a few with nothing but pipes and spears.

The red lights of the Laz guns lights up the corador at every shot, showing some mutants trying to take pot shot with one being hit in the 3 eyed head.

‘’What happened?’’ The Marine asks, settling into ingrained combat training.

‘’one of our teams went out to explore some ‘Warp’ signatures and bumped into a group of humans.’’ One of the Barders states, fists covered in drying blood and armor dented by medium caliber small arms. ‘’it was peaceful at first even with them preaching about some religious figure they referred to as ‘Grandfather’. Then one of our medics tried to heal a kid of some sickness.’’ The man gives a shiver ‘’things went from 0 to crazy faster than light and we booked it back here. Thankfully no casualties’’

‘’Here’’ one of the fresh borders hand the Marine a slip of paper ‘’the radio frequency we are using, if you’re gonna help. Might as well be in the loop’’

Marine take and look at the frequency written in Gothic ‘’I thought you didn’t speak gothic?’’

‘’We got translators. They can tell us how to write stuff out’’ the border says as he aim back down the corridor.

Her cloths is that of a Nobel woman but decayed and faded by years. The woman cannot be less than 50 but it’s hard to tell with her condition.

‘’That is close enough’’ the dented Border orders, causing the woman to pause. Her heretically decorated staff tapping on the floor in a 7 base tempo. ‘’your people are stunned, and ourselves have lost no one. But my big friend here have some king of grande luncher. Leave with them and all will be forgiven, but not forgotten. But if you Fight-‘’

The dented Armsman flip a switch on he’s Laz gun, a auditable wine of the machine sperit can be heard, echoed by the speakers of he’s armor.
‘’- these will be set these to kill’’

The same high pitch wine is heard from the other Laz weapons of the federation, as the Marine count 4 rounds in he’s Bolt Gun. With no resupply. The foolishness of not just killing these heretics is not lost on the Space Marines. ‘Perhaps this is what my forbrothers felt when they encountered lost humanity unaware of the full horrors’

‘’I am detecting a rise in Warp energy from her, unknown source’’ can be heard over the vox

‘’You know not of what your trifling with Federation.’’ The woman sneer ‘’you know not what what was and will be, not of bliss or of suffering-’’

‘’Ma’am I’m from Riza’’ the dented man interrupted ‘’I’m pretty sure I know what Bliss is’’

The marine takes off he’s helmet, angry, frustrated, and questioning he very sanity among these… heathens… and look directly at the dented Federation Border.

The Lt Commander border look back at the massive man. The powerful scowl on he’s face for a moment Force the commander to step back before he is able to stand firm. The face of the Marine is that of a warrior of many battles, healed scars, burns, and feild treatments cover he’s face as he stare down the Fed.

‘Such confidence among fools’ the marine thinks before he open he’s mouth ‘’I will show you this mercy once, xenophiles’’ the marine states to the Federalist who frowns at the insult ‘’What this creatures and her ilk were-‘’

‘’One of the stunned are getting up’’ the marine hears on the vox followed by the sound of phaser fire.

With eyes of hate the marine slowly turns around to the blue face Xenos Border who simply put he’s weapon on safe and let go of it, letting the weapon hang loose from a strap.

‘’They-‘’ the marine says turning back to the Lt Commander ‘’they can’t nor should be reasoned with. They Are Dammed, tainted by beings of the warp. Slaves to them and their only goal is to taint and dam us in turn.’’ The warrior worns. ‘’You people seem to value mercy and kindness above many other things including sanity. If you want to be Merciful-‘’

The Marine grab the blue Xeno’s Laz gun snapping the strap, switch it back to lethal, and open fire on the ‘stunned’ heretics with one hand ‘’show them the mercy of death’’

The Lt Commander close he’s eyes for a moment and takes a deep breath before saying ‘’Sir, please unhand the Phaser Rifle and make your way to the Arvis Lighter. We no longer require your assistance’’ the man says, containing he’s own anger and frustration behind a shield of professionalism.

The marine put back on he’s helmet ‘’I highly advise you burn the bodies, yet the Taint spread to you as well.’’ The armored man says before leaving the checkpoint.

Inside the shuttle the Marine sits down. ‘’Emperor’s and Seguinius’ mercy’’ the weapon says removing he’s helmet.

‘’Don’t worry Lord Marine’’ the Pilot says ‘’It’s great to have you back to the fold’’

The doors to the shuttle closes as the shuttle takes off. The Pilot turn to the Marine and shows hem the far to well known =][=.

The marine chuckles, a deep, almost emotionless things ‘’You serious?’’ He asks

‘’As serious as the Nids’’ the Interrogator respond ‘’but soon we shall enlighten the humans to the truth’’

A deep base reviberates through the metal of the hulk, ancient voxes bellow a discordant music, some distorted- others cutting in and out.

A different thud hits the other side of the wall next to Brian and a piece falls away. Brian look through the new small hole.

The sight on the other side is worse than what the Voidman feared. It’s looks like some sort of small Manufactorum. Green creatures run around, pounding, melting, cutting, and sharpening scrap and trash into weapons.

At one table a large brute of a creature dip a ball with teeth in a jar of adhesive before covering it in bullets, granades, and yellow sticks of Explostickd before dumping the entire creature in a bucket of yellow paint.

At another a box of tan color Tau guns are being bashed apart by a gaggle of Grechens before one of the brutes put it back together into the ramshackle weapons of these Xenoses.

Every one of these brutes with a gaggle of smaller greenskins work on weapons and tools, armor and cloths, getting ready for war.

And overlooking it all on a stage is the biggest of the green brutes. He’s armor being tan and sloppily overpainted with blue, looking like some gutted Tau war mashean made into a sute of armor to fit. About as tall as 2 of the Tau corpses, the armor had been modified with more weapons and plates of scrap metal. The makeshift armor claws holds an equally makeshift instrument, a dozen strings made from copper wires spliced together and strip of their protective covers, its body made from a round device the Feds found trashed among the other Tau tech. It’s neck made from a long blade. At the feet of the beast is a large drum made from an old promethium can, its foot tapping down to keep a rhythm.

‘’Oi! Ya Gits!’’ The monster bellow as Captain Carlos gets next to Brian to hold up he’s Tricorder to record

‘’Whoz here havs their fill of fishies?!?’’ The beast boasts, causing the other beasts to shout and laugh. ‘’Whoz here havs thair fill of Spiky Humies?’’ The beast bellows in murderous joy, leading to another discordant chorus of yells

‘’Wez Ready to go after the Fishies! Wez gonna Crump them, Crush Themz, Wez going to take thez scrapz. And once we gotz all of that. WEZ GOING TO WAGGGG THOZ PANSY HUMIES!-

With a bellow of cheer all of the green creatures bellow the war cry of ‘WAGGG’, a defining cry of jubilation among these beastsz.

‘’I wouldn’t call you pansies’’ Brian says softly to Captain Carlos.

‘’We need to find those Tau, and now’’ the Captain responds equally softly.

Zana steps back from the view of the perverted factorum shop. ‘’Tech heresies on Tech heresies’’ she mutters with her flesh voice as she feel a hand fall on her shoulder.

‘Don’t panic’ go through the head of Zana as she in a fluid motion shove back the unknown intruder with her new elbow. Spinning around the rejuvenated woman feeling more… efficient, stronger and more sharp. The faint fog in her head gone- a fog she never realized was there.

The figure steps back, narrowly avoiding tripping on a pipe on the ground, by the time they try to raise their weapon- a blue tipped Phaser is pressed to the tan armor on their chest.

‘’don’t panic’’ Zana says quietly looking at the foe with a smerk.

several lights on the helmets of the federation personnel lands on the figure- illuminating their blue face. Unlike the Tellrites, this one is lacking anteni, instead having 2 artificial tan disks where its head should be and a Y shape, her face is covered in bruises and cuts including one going over her red color left eye. The Tau warrior raise a fist causing the convoy to pause.

‘’The water flows clean’’ she says

‘’why are you saying it in low Gothic?’’ A unseen voice says.

‘’These, Federated People, has some translating drones’’ the Tau warrior says. ‘’They all wear them’’

A metal slit in a wall slides open.

‘’Good to see you E.M’’ the human voice says to the alien to a rehearsed snarky smile from the Xenos.

‘’You know how much I hate that ‘false name’ Leionus.’’ The Xenos says, clear banter in her voice as the wall slides open.

‘’It’s called a Nick name’’ the human says, face covered in a plaster except for he’s brown eyes and mouth ‘’the Etherial is right this way Captian, he would like to speak to you’’

‘’great- what precisely is a Etherial by the way?’’ Captain Carlos asks ‘’is it another one of those warp-capable people?’’

‘’Warp capable?’’ The Tau alined human asks.

‘’Imperials call them Witches and corrupted sometimes, Teacher Mathew called the abilities blessings’’ the captain elaborate.

‘’Oh no, they are the leaders of the Tau Empire.’’ The Human explains as he lead the Feds to the makeshift compound. ‘’They are the wisest and most capable of castes of the Tau’’

The remaining Tau of their endeavor to explore and exploit the bundle of space debris had retreated to what looks like a cathedral of massive scale. A large golden statue of a man stand proud where the Cross would be in the ancient earth temples.

The old pews have been repurposed as beds for the many Tau workers, the expensive candle sticks and solid metal imagery to serve to secure entryways. Many of the soldiers and workers look parch and hungry. The only ones who look to be eating well are the green avians. Captain Carlos was about to ask when Dr Caten slams a open ornate door she peeked through and simply shakes her head.

Near the purple heart pulpit sits a Tau man In elaborate robes sitting on a disk like hovering device, young looking with a head of red hair. Next to hem is a Tau woman, in a scuffed form fitting elegant purple dress, long dirty blond hair done in 2 braids going down either side of her head. On her head is a metallic conical hat with a blue and purple pattern. Both blue skin aliens have the round devices where their ears should be- the woman’s done in a manner like a pair of headphones connected to her hat.

‘’Hello, I am Soft Wind of the Waster Cast, this is Etherial Vior Vash.’’ The woman says, Carlo’s translator indicating her to be speaking perfect High Gothic while the floating young man look at the Federalist with a puzzled expression.

‘’Are you speaking for Ethereal Vior Vash?’’ Carlos asks.

‘’Yes Soft Wind’’ Captain Carlos says ‘’but we are already being overburdened with a large evacuation of others from this vessel, we can provide a safe corridor to await departure to a nearby Star Base and colony while we try to find out where your government is in the Galaxy’’ the Federalist explains.

The Etherial hover to the woman and whispers to her ear, some unknown technology jamming the Universal Translator form translating or even recording audio at all.

‘’The great Etherial wish to know where in the galaxy we are’’ the woman asks.

Captain Carlos takes out a data pad ‘’on here is our current location in relation to the 5 closest Quasar, the Core, and the frequency of those Quasars’’ he explains ‘’perhaps you can see where we are in relation-‘’

‘’This says that we are in what the Imperials refer to Segmentum Solar’’ the Etherial interrupts after feeding the information into he’s floating device ‘’effectively right next to the reported location of Holy Terra, yet it been reported that you do not know of the Imperium’’

‘’That’s the complicated part’’ captain Carlos reply, maintaining he’s composure ‘’we believe that you’re either in the past, or in an alternative timeline.’’

‘’we been suspecting such’’ the Etherial says ’’And even if we were in our, time or reality, we are on the far side of the entire galaxy’’ the statement force the man to slouch with the weight of the situation. ‘’How many would be able to evacuate?’’ He asks before pulling out a canister from he’s robe to drink form.

Captain Carlos sighs ‘’if given enough time, all of you.’’ He says doing the math in he’s head ‘’but that at current capacity and including others we are evacuating it would take about… 5 to 10 of our days, with a general call of aid given to our civilian vessels’’

The Etherial thinks for a moment before wispering to the Water Cast, once more activating some unknown jammer.

‘’Would you allow us to first evacuate key personnel?’’ The woman asks.

‘’Yes- but you would be sharing priority with the children of the Church of the Word’’ the captain explains ‘’we had to broker a deal with them to get to you so fast’’

The Etherial sighs then nod he’s head, a practiced action learned from another culture. ‘’We the Tau thank you for helping the Greater Good.’’ The woman reply.

Zana pause for a moment ‘’I… believe that things are more complicated than they told us’’ she says ‘’we were lowly crewmen, we were told what we needed to know, not what others above us needed to know’’ she say, trying to rectify what she seen, what had been ddone to her ‘’I believe we been thrown head first into something that make such things seem inaccurate due to… missing information.’’

There’s a distance explosion that shaken the entire nest of heretics and Xenos awake. Warriors grab weapons while workers hasen their attempts to pack up critical materials. green avians along with blue monsters with ship-flappers like wings rush to positions, blue skin soldiers along with tan armored humans gather weapons and hug workers they have become friends with perhaps for a last time.

Brian without thinking catches a Phaser rifle, a phaser captured by Zana’s new hand.

‘’Alright change of plans’’ Keven says to the two imperials ‘’I’m going to lag behind to delay a bunch of Warp-sick who found a hatch, you guys go with me or with the evacuation, either way expect some gunfire’’
