It is a dark age.
The world never was a safe place. The wilds always had something to surprise and subdue the civilised races' ambition for dominion over the world. Some routes untravelled, almost all dangerous. And yet cities and small kingdoms sprung up on this danger like on fertile soil, ripping their power out of the claws of those creatures that could be defeated.
But in the past decades, where there were untamed beasts and savage races, there appeared beings of darkness yet unseen. Seers speak of a Demon King, rising somewhere far to the west, poisoning the world with his hatred and malice. The gods are quiet, their gifts and words few, as always. Their champions have attempted to journey to the heart of darkness to defeat it, but none returned.
Prophesies speak of a group of heroes that will rid the world of this scourge, like in ages past.
You do not think yourselves those heroes. The goal of your journey is more grounded than saving the world; for it is also said that whoever defeats the Demon King shall be granted any wish, be it by the gods or not. In pursuit of those wishes, you have banded together on...
THE LONG JOURNEY WEST.

This is a multiplayer game in a fantasy setting. It will be a narrative one, no rolls required, no particular pressure, so I expect players to reciprocate my offers of challenges with failures, where fitting for the story. Still, no pressure.
The quest will be slow. I aim to update every 5 days, maybe fewer or more depending on the complexity. I ask, however, that responses are submitted within 48 hours of the update posting time.
