Not been buying a whole lotta joytoy due to me getting into gunpla, but I did preorder that Imperial Knight. Anyway. Magnus came in at the same time as this other figure did. He's got a big presence for sure, I ended up liking him a lot more than Russ.

This guy also arrived too. The paint application of the red is really something to see. I also think it's got better stability and articulation than the other contemptors that came before. Definitely recommend him, even though he's a big boy.

That's a good thing. The short-lived Imperial Fists weathering experiment was a failure, shit looked so bad. It was the laziest sponge weathering and there was way too much of it. I'd much rather do it myself, where I can take time and put it in places where it makes sense instead of just slapping it everywhere.

Finally started work on the printable 1/18 Lelith sculpt I've been thinking about. I've actually never sculpted a humanoid realistic face from scratch before so I'm probably jumping in at the deep end but hey, first time for everything. Multires modifier is a godsend. Obviously it's very WIP but I'm pleased so far, at least until I come back to it and go "What the FUCK was I thinking!??".

Beakie looks giga silly when it's so ornamented. It was always tacticool/utilitarian adjacent. It just doesn't work. Imperial Fist beakie Praetor is even worse.

I've got to agree there. Sticking the beaky helmet on something like this feels so weird to me. Like the person who designed it didn't really "get" the aesthetic.

This one i also particularly don't like because it has too much of an upturned banana shape to the beak.

I'm sad Tau did not sell. I got them all and they're great. But we'll probably have a long wait until we see more aliens other than Tyranids. I just wish they would do basic Ork Boyz with a fairly simple paint job to keep costs down so people could army build.

You don't have to have leaks, the writing was on the wall. The Fire Warriors got brutally clearanced, people were getting the $110 set for less than $50. They only went back up in price after they'd been sold out for a while and general 40K hype starting ramping up.

What? Nothing was "proven" either way, besides the lack of Tau since then. They didn't even make the incredibly easy breachers, who would just need a different helmet, backpack, and gun.
If we look at other xenos, necrons got one wave (2 figures) of repaints, so they probably did slightly better than Tau. Tyranids got an almost immediate repaint/reissue for the warrior, plus a second wave of termagants (with new guns/forearms) AND some hormagants (with new shins and hooves, tails, back carapace, three heads, and forearms), so they're probably doing great.
Unlike Orks, who got one wave of 6, plus a bigger figure in the rider. No repaints, no reissues, plenty available to this day, so they clearly did poorly.

Why do people make so many assertions that are not only baseless, but demonstrably untrue?

I can't wait for the Khorne berserkers and I hope we end up getting more from Khorne along with Angron. I would love to see some bloodletters and chaos terminators but I know we are more likely to get some dumb shit like Eightbound. At least getting chaos cultists, or the special snowflake cultists "Jakhals" is now fairly likely.

The basic shooty custodes are just new arms and head for guardians, right? I don't mess with resin, so I never got forge world custodes, but if they're just an upgrade sprue, then there's a lot of parts reusage in them, right?
That would just leave 3 more slots (discounting the "joytoy" box), so HQs?
They could also spring sisters of silence, too.

Though I believe I heard that they may make the SM2 operations characters (fire team talasa), so if your not a fan of the videogame proportions, then you've been monkey pawed. Hopefully they don't just do their basic armors, and give them some cool combinations of bling, because I want an eliminator with the shoulder clothes and hood.

If they released the stealth suit and Commander Farsight just to have the big named character out of the way I would be content even if that was all the Tau they ever released. Broadsides, Ghostkeels, and even Kroot would be nice but I just want a "baseline" Tau force.
