Robot joints are tight and creaky out of the box
As well as a bit limited
The should bunch up going outward amd the bicep swivel is in between the two elbow joints
The flame effects for the axe are neat, less neat is that it doesn't securely peg into his hand all and relies on the finger joints to hold it

I don't feel too ripped off for a toy I bought on a whim from a random chinese company

You're not supposed to but they don't really hide it either. They show up at the same conventions next to each other along with 01Studio, and their style of origami folding panels makes it obvious.

So on my way home I have come across this figure, which was on sale, and got it for relatively cheap.
The plastic quality is good, the joints are tight and even the red chest is die-cast. Hell even the paint seems to be solid. I didn't expect the quality to be this good when I was getting it.
The transformation is also nice but the proportions are slightly wonky but when posed it can look great... only for the robot mode, the dinosaur mode's chest is noticeably hallow.
I have also discovered(?) a third mode for a combiner(?) set. What I assume is, this Sludge can turn into an arm. The legs definetely form a forearm and hand with a dino head thumb but I just couldn't figure out what to do with the torso since there is nothing about this in the instructions.
All of this got me thinking, this thing is a bit too elaborate for what it is and the way it transforms (like how the tail stores in the back/torso) it lead me to think it is based on another design/toy. From what I have searched I just couldn't find anything and figured asking this general.

would also love to see them take on upgrading ratchet, that prime figure is so close to great, just a little bit of modern love would really put it over.
