The first mass produced $1000(ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS) Lego set. Will this set the stage to become the new normal? Is this the future of toys?

Holy fuck, what are these prices? I'll admit I'm long since removed from the hobby since I haven't bought Lego sets since the 90's and super early 2000s where a given range's largest set was $80-90, but still that's still beyond absurd.

Why wouldn't such a high ranking guy have his own room with a relax chamber in the gigantic Death Star? The emperor had a throne room in there too, there's enough space for the head honchos to have their own homes in there.

Even though Vader didn't care about the Death Star he sure can have a meditation room aboard it. But why not remove non screen accurate stuff to make more space for a better version of something we did see on screen? Make the meeting room bigger, or the comm room. Why is a stupid fucking elevator taking up a huge chunk of the retail space? The set is plagued with bad choices.

Oh shit. I had that exact RC Countach. I never put the stickers on it though.
It was really fucking fast (for the time) and there weren't many places in my neighborhood I could drive it. I often had to take it to an indoor basketball court in order to enjoy it.

It's very unlikely that DS1 would have a chamber especially for Vader
DS1 is takrin' operation

Personally speaking I really think they should skip all the non DS1 stuff so they can build the set into a proper half sphere and have the diorama being bigger

There is no reason to have the emperor's room when that size of space should be the brief room and the hanger not come with a simple falcon

Lego is gonna go through some pretty rough times next year.
The toxic popularity of pokemon is going to consume a large portion of legos production and distribution time.
All other sets will suffers.
Everything will only be available on the secondary market for 2x msrp after a while.
The money bros will set their sights on lego with Pokemon but will soon migrate to all lego.
Its about to get really really bad, buy your sets now, they will be forever out of your price range in a few short months.

is this thread just full of tourists and dumbasses?? it's a 9000+ piece set. lego is usually around ten cents a brick. this isn't absurd at all. you could buy one hundred $10 sets and end up with the same amount of pieces. i swear everyone on this board is a fucking moron with no toys who just likes to complain.
