A single detolf is putting out more toxic fumes than the entirety of your collection.
It's a matter of mass and how many chemicals used in a product. So that bookcase was made from wood scraps that got treated and pressed together into a shape with various chemicals. And then to keep the mass of wet wood together, they used glues, which are full of chemicals that will offgas until it sags itself apart.
Basically, if you can SMELL it, you're breathing in a shit ton of chemicals. And just because you stopped noticing the smell doesn't mean it stopped releasing offgases. IT just means you stopped noticing or it absorbed the stench of your room.
The fact that basically need to put your nose up to your toy to actually smell the chemicals vs just entering a room with your brand new particle board bookcase shows the gigantic difference in the output of retard/cancer/tit-making gasses they're releasing.
Cars are even worse, since the inside is basically nothing but plastics and the heat from the sun causes the plastics to release their plasticizers even faster. That new car smell is how you make male tits and breast cancer.
