Need to have luxury income to buy non-toddler toys; ethnic minorities by percentage don't go into the higher trades or get advanced degrees for educated jobs.
Whites are less likely to think "toys are only for babies".
So the main demographic that are buying toys that are not rattles and teething toys are middle-class and higher white US citizens. As middle-class or higher they are 90% of the victims in encounters with minorities... a negative view of ethnic characters is well validated despite the media agenda and propaganda.
You can artificially force DEI all you like, but the hard reality is if the character lacks appeal to the buyers and subconsciously reminds them of IRL criminals they've encountered then the sales will be low.
