Then they should not buy anything related to the show. I have tons of old anime I like with no figures, but you don't see me desperately looking for funko pops of them.

Not having a figure is better than having a Funko Pop. It might be a figure of the character you're looking for, insofar as their name is on the box, but their design is stripped of all its appeal and personality. If I had something like that on my shelf, I'd just feel bad every time I looked at it.

I think that's the #1 issue I have with pops

it isn't merely that they have their appeal and personality removed, it's been replaced with the pop one

It's not a funko pop of that character, it's a funko pop cosplaying as that character

Funko really needs to add a line of similar vinyl figurines, like what Culture Fly and Cryptozoic make, that isn't so uniform, and that would be a huge improvement.

The less it looks like a funko pop the better it looks (and the better it represents the actual character in question). Any design that obscures or does away with the ugly block head and dead black eyes is a significant step up from the more standard slop

Ive been in the funko fandom since the beginning. This is debilitating to be quite honest, ive cried more tears over this than any of my grandparents or pets passing. It was fun(ko) while it lasted.

Should i hold onto my funkos and pray the value goes back up after they shut down for real or just flip em now before they lose more value?

Think about it, funkos were huge in the early 2010s, so once the 2000s nostalgia dies, you can make huge bank off of these little zoomer retards once they have disposable income as young adults.
