I had this set and heavily modified the speeder because I didn't like its flimsy build, I think.
It goes without saying that those tusken raiders were the first and best version without question.

This was the very first Lego set I ever ordered from the Lego catalog. I still have the minifigures together but I definitely used the bike and antenna thing for other builds.

I'm the anon with the 2006 Sail Barge, I want to slowly try and fully restore it.

honestly the pre rots era of lego is pretty similar to the post rots era until about 2008, and the minifigs were still essentially the same outside of the tcw sets until 2010ish
the 2009 echo base set still uses the original han face and smilies for the basic rebels, just in flesh instead of yellow

I have the new ahsoka from the interceptor along with the anakin. They are later season versions. The Obi wan from the v-19 looks sick but I want an obi wan in his canon later seasons outfit. Which obi is the optimal pick?

Picrel seems to be the only option but his face has an entirely different style to the anakin and ahsoka figs.

Actually, not a bad idea. I have both either way. Will most probably do this once I get another v-19 obi wan. The printing on my 2013 obi head is degrading anyways.

I'm surprised this A-wing doesn't get more love. I had the set and I think it was my favourite starfighter back then. It's still among my most favourite. It's like the final evolution of the V-wing in terms of stats (iirc it's really fast).

Enjoy those anon, they go good together as well. Post pics so I can get an idea of the executor's scale.

I think the biggest stinker at the time was that around that era lego couldn't get into white blocks anymore so literally 100% of these came out with yellowish white bricks.
Now normally that's not a complete dealbreaker, but it becomes very jarring when there's plenty of stickers that are in proper white that end up not matching the blocks.

Despite that it probably STILL is the best A-Wing playset to date.

Can confirm mine are yellowy, the box also says this for whatever that matters.
Funny though, I bought the first version of Obi-Wan's starfighter from episode II brand new not too long ago, which is like 10 years older than this set, but those bricks were all in pristine white, they even share those long white slope bricks (42061) in their build too.
Guess I was just unlucky this time.

That looks really good, nice slight adjustment at the tip of the ship as well.
I do say though, those white clips holding the glass piece will never not be an eyesore to me, I am absolutely going to swap them out for black ones, BUT

a far more illegal possibility just came to me.

Slightly.

All of this wouldn't normally be a big deal, but once I place those glass stickers I cannot go back.

And that is an excellent point. I think that something I might do too, I have that bar-less windshield piece too.

Though i wish we could have a more accurate way to do the cockpit.

In some iterations the windshield slides forward but I also saw pictures of it opening up backwards instead of towards the nose like the lego version.

I'm trying to create my own blasters but damn is it hard trying to get the colors and proportions nice/correct.
I felt like I had it with this, but the top blaster now feels too bricky instead of technic like the bottom one.

If you want to go full-accuracy autism then those black tips need to be dark red too I believe, but alas, I simply do not have those pieces.

I think the glow in the dark material looks more accurate to the "saber" anyway, the lighsabers aren't "see-through" in any iteration

I wouldn't worry too much about the cannon accuracy, as I see it some details like that could be pilot's personal little things that they did to their own A-wing, and not something every a-wing has in common.

I am trying to figure out how to keep it angled while gibing it the ability be to turn 180 to shoot backwars like its lore-accurate.

Rule of Cool.
The early-trans sabers will always look the best, partially because it reflects more light for a nice "shine" effect compared to the new frosted ones. Trans bricks in general are special so concurrently that made the sabers special as well.

To this day I still have no clue why they changed it and I find it very hard to believe that the majority actually prefers the new ones.

I completely forgot about this. Next time I guess else this Executor is never getting built.

But you make a valid point, for now I'll settled with something I think looks the best with what I was able to create.
Oh and FUCK lego for forcing children to go through the nightmare of trying to get these 2 thin glass stickers on correctly.

I am actively avoiding buying sets with stickers in them, and buy good sets that don't have any.

I hate that lego is supposedly is a premium toy but even some knock-off brands manage to include printed pieces.

If pad-printing is so expensive maybe they should switch, UV printing has come a long way, I much rather have UV printed pieces than stickered ones.

Lego printing is such a weird thing. They used to do all the time 20 years ago, but now they barely do and when they do it looks worse than what they did 20 years ago, like how the fuck is that even possible lmao.

Was looking into X-Wing comparisons yesterday and not even the mandr-faggot pointed out how they could print white-on-orange perfectly fine in 1999-2006 but suddenly can't anymore.
It slightly improved in 2021 but still looks worse than 1999-2006, fucking how.

Meanwhile the kids couldn't care less, we were perfectly happy with no leg-prints and arm-prints when I was a kid, but I HATED whenever a sticker teared or started to peel off.
