Lego Bricks are good quality for sure. But if i'm heavily into building military stuff from bricks... and i would have that much money that i could buy several tanks in the price range of 200-400 dollars each, then i would just buy that cheap children toy made by Cobi or Xingbao or Sembo, just out of curiosity. Its 50 bucks at maximum anyway. If it is unbuildable trash.. ok, not much money wasted. (thats how i actually gotten into building bricks.. i was just curios and bought a couple of cheap sets)
And even 5 years ago, China brands have not been 10 times worse than Lego. But they cost 10 times less than Brickmania. While having better designed sets for the most part.
This actually offends me the most. Their designs are bad. Those 3 round plates on the Panthers mantlet. What are they supposed to represent? There are better Lego parts to put there to create a bit of "thickness" to the barrel. (see pic)
Sure, i get that some people are not into mixing brands with each other, but they are arbitrarily limiting their own options. (for example that grey return wheel on the panther, which probably is not available in sand/tan).
I can not understand why people care that much about the brand of their bricks when all they do with it is displaying it on the shelf anyway).
