Just having them all touching each other MIGHT mean they get damaged, hence only trusting to buy stuff like that in person. As long as you don't jostle them or make them shift around fast, they'll usually hold up fine.

Most of the toys /toy/ talks about aren't this shitty and when they ARE that shitty, they'll decompose NEW in package as well. See early Figmas and Revoltechs.
ALSO i suspect that early decomposition was because they lived in armpit states/countries and are too poor to afford air conditioning.
