Okay, hear me out. Here's an idea.
Imagine you're a Bandai representative.
1) Take oldschool 1/55 VF-1 toys, which still have a demand for them among Robotech, Macross and Transformers fans.
2) Re-release them in limited quantities. Cooler decos, like Roy Focker or Jetfire (sublicensed from Hasbro) should be more limited.
3) Next start doing even more limited never-made-before editions like Robotech VF-1R or Max VF-1S from DYRL.
4) Next, release cool in-universe collabs, like Minmay Guard deco VF-1, or VF-1 in Basara colors or Zentradi style VF-1
5) Next start crazy collaborations with other franchises, like red Optimus Prime valkyrie (with a new head sculpt), black Darth Vader vakyrie etc.
6) Somewhere at this point people are already hooked on the toyline. It has become mainstream, known outside of Macross and Transformers fanbases, sought after. A transformable Bearbrick equivalent if you will.
7) Jordan collabs, Nike collabs, Supreme collabs.
