>>7103268You're the type of fan I'm talking about.
DCC made the Icons line which is everything a fan wants from an ML is plus more.
And you straight up reject it because it didn't follow the ML scale which Hasbro doesn't follow either, where they've been creeping the scale to 1/11 and 1/10 scale.
Also, DCUC is Mattel shit. Not DCC.
All of the other DCC lines are basically just following a style and doing that til there's no more demand, hence Arkham, Bombshells, Capulla, etc going as long as it did, despite how limited the line is. Sometimes it's just ones and dones.
They never really went after that ML type line, where they're just making generic figures of popular characters, until Icons.
Which segues into...
>>7103255Ah, sorry, you should have just called it Kenner.
There was never really a generic superhero line until the Marvel Legends line. Everything before that was theme centric. The only reason Toy Biz made as many comic figures as they did is because both XMen:TAS and Spider-man:TAS featured a lot of cameos of comic book characters.
It really wasn't until Justice League that Kenner/Mattel could make more than just Batman and Superman featured toys.
You really can't blame anyone for still doing that whole cartoon > toyline thing, which shows how innovative and revolutionary McFarlane was for taking up the toy industry down that path of just making comic book characters, that Toy Biz standardized.
