I'm about to blow the fucking lid off this peroxide debate. I tested the "peroxide makes it worse" thing about a year ago and ended up kind of forgetting to check until now. Top is a new 1x4 - no shit. Bottom was suspended in a 1/20 part hydrogen peroxide solution for 48 hours so that only one side was suspended while the other remained untouched. It's been exposed to what I'd consider "normal" sunlight for about a year, and I took the photo just a few minutes ago. Can you guess which side got the peroxide? Unscrew those copium valves boys.
