>>9543373They feel similar to the 2008 Hasbro Marvel Legends. Soft sculpts, gummy feeling plastic, flimsy articulation and generally inferior to its predecessor. That's not to say Classics was perfect, nor was Toybiz ML. But Toybiz ML was such a gamechanger that the first few years of Hasbro felt like a massive downgrade, as it failed to do anything to innovate or improve on what Toybiz did. It wasn't til they killed the line when it was cannibalized by Marvel Universe, resurrected it, and then had another few years of trial and error that they finally found their footing.
Masterverse is suffering from the same thing. They aren't improving on Classics, the figures have awkward proportions and small heads, they just feel like another moderate collector scale line. New Eternia is more interesting than their current offerings, but even then the sculpts are nothing too impressive and I'd rather see that concept in something like Origins or Mega Construx. I have 0 nostalgic connection to Vintage Motu, I grew up in the time of 200x and Classics. But ultimately, Origins are fun toys on their merit alone, same for Mega Construx and even some of the toys for the CGI show. Masterverse simply doesn't feel fun or imaginative, and I can see it going the way of early Hasbro Legends where it gets cannibalized or potentially harms another line from its own shortcomings.
