>>10054042>It's a larger exposed area than anywhere on the Bay design. What do you call all of this then? There's a fuckload of exposed internal mechanisms and doodads, and this is with me trying to be pretty forgiving seeing as how it's a fictional robot where any of this shit could serve any purpose. The point is that a lot of this LOOKS important and looks like the equivalent of a human with half of their fucking bones exposed.
>Outside of actual Transformers fans, I don't know anyone who's even seen BumblebeeThat's a pretty irrelevant point considering Transformers fans are exactly who this shit matters to. Not to mention you're ignoring the fact that the design is being used in a second movie and it's a movie where Prime actually has a bigger role beyond an intro and outro segment. It's not just going away as you implied. Plus, clearly enough people saw it since it grossed $468 at the box office, which is pretty solid for the budget, and it so far has the best critical reception compared to the Bay films which have been steadily dropping. If fans like it and it's making money, that's a good indicator of success even if it's not making as much money as something attempting to cater to wider audiences. Studio execs may not always think so but we aren't the execs, we're the fans consuming it. We're not the ones who see any benefit if a franchise we like is successful but the things we like are stripped out and the quality goes down the shitter.
My point is that while you're free to have your own opinion on the design, don't go making broad remarks about it as if you're the authority when you do seem to be in the minority and that most TF fans did like the design. It's not going anywhere any time soon.
