Okay, so I built a wee cute Sherman and I tried to weather it. Since I am pretty new to weathering, I completely fucked up. What was intended was a wash with burnt umber to bring out the plasticity of the model a bit. Instead it looks like weird ugly rust. I use acrylics and the gloss coat is acrylic, too. Should I just remove everything and start new?
I really don't know what I did wrong. I mixed the pigment with thinner until it was nice and runny and then applied it, but when I watch videos of people doing this, it's always really really dark. Mine was already rather bright, but can I use more pigment without it getting too viscous? So far I was pretty proud of my tracks and the machine gun (not in focus here).
