It was an entirely race-focused chassis built to be fast and agile as fuck. Drivers described it as a "ball of automotive rage". I'm not sure where I recall this from, but some official source once described Wheeljack as being the best driver in his alt mode, and it makes sense.
There's another layer of humor in the fact that the Marlboro sponsored version of the car caught fire a significant amount of times. I really do love how the inspiration of the original toys was inspired so much by car culture.
