>>10691194It's all about the orientation of the part and placing as few supports as possible, and in areas where they'll be easy to clean up, or easy to hide when the thing is assembled (if its multiple parts).
The body of this guy is one I printed and only had a couple of supports for a relatively large (about 3.5" tall) and solid piece printed in a standing position. Most the supports were placed on the pegs on the ends of the arms and legs, that'll be hidden when the hands and feet are put on. The only other supports were around the abdomen as you can see, and can be cleaned up really easily. There's virtually no clean up needed anywhere else and I just don't know how anyone can swear by a FDM printer when there is ALWAYS more to clean up all over the print.
