There is a lot of debate as to what it was and what it could do with several sources stating the gun was unusable and the turret was none rotating having been bolted into position with others stating that the turret and gun where fully functional which seems unlikely me or that only the gun function with no turret rotation. On top of all that there is also the theory that it was a converted Bergepanther (recovery version) given a left over panzer IV turret.
