>>6535773Nex time for such big gaps put so plasticard or cut sprue and glue it with thin glue, then put some putty on top and sand so the bulk of hole filling is made by the plastic which keeps its dimensions through the whole process till sanding. Or add more putty but that's more wasteful.
Right now do pic related as it's how I do it, first layer usually shrinks so I do a literal mountain of putty on the second but only on the hole and that solves it. Lacquer thinner is another option as it thins the putty and you can handle it like a paste or thick liquid around too for tricky places
