He's lying that Disney/Marvel wouldn't give you the likeness for the actor. The fucking likeness was bought and sold the day the actor signed up to be in the movie. Every single license for the movie characters will get the likeness for the actor.
IF you hear otherwise, it's a bunch of bullshit, at least most anything after the 90s when everything started getting merched to hell and back.
And there are a lot of fine sculpts that don't have mushy sculpts done by Bandai, because they actually have GOOD sculptors, but those bad ones are still around making awful dreks.
