Key takeaways from me trying to dye a Voriki Metru.
Started as a Nuju, all parts white except the mask which was silver. In the pot of water with the dye.
First surprise. The parts don't deform/melt even if the water is boiling. From past experience any trace of acetone will deform even if its diluted to shit.
Torso, Waist and legs took the dye instantly and got the lovely purple as on the box. Kept their shine too.
All the parts that are gold on Lhikan didn't take paint very well. Ended up as a faded blue/purple. Still uniform, just not very purple.
Chest piece and arms didn't take the dye almost at all. Ended up light lilac even after 2 hours in the pot.
The mask turned into this very pretty metallic purple. It's expectedly darker but it's still a very pretty color.
Thermal expansion is a thing, and it made the axle holes very tight so if I were to ever do it again, I would keep an axle in.
All in all. It looks nice, apart from the arm and chest pieces. And the process was very easy, didn't feel like heresy at all.
