>>10379517The joints I created are universal. The sculpt itself is separate from the joints with the exception of the elbow and knee joints. But I can pre-adjust them. I can even transfer the entire figure into something like Daz Studio and have users mix and match parts and preview the entire assembled figure directly. Just like a Genesis figure except for action figures.
>>10379519I'm from Europe. The cost of shipping alone will mark up the price considerably. Something in between 60-100$ per figure. Then there's the insane waiting time which is measured in months.
Or you can pay 5$ for the digital files and print it yourself. This was printed on an Ender 3 which is a <300$ machine. A filament spool costs ~40$ and you can reliably get 8 figures per spool. If you sell 20 units you'll recuperate your investment plus make a profit.
Alternatively there are 3D printing services which offer filament, resin, and SLS printing. For example, if you choose the SLS method you can print one figure (plus accessories) for around 30$ with no need for clean-up. If you order in bulk it will cost even less.
Soon companies will start offering full color 3D printing which can offer a level of detail that even surpasses Hot Toys. Pic related. Model came out as is with no clean-up or painting required, just a simple soap bath. In a couple of years such color printers will be affordable to regular consumers as well.
