A Tie Fighter is the right choice, since it's one of the most icon vehicles ever made. Despite being from a shitty movie, it still almost identical to the originals, which means even non-sequel fans may like it.

You know what they DID start on? Speeder Bike, which is also one of the most iconic vehicles ever made and guess what? IT also shelf warmed like crazy, got clearanced off for $15 in most places, and you can STILL buy it cheap.
1/12 scalefags are poorer than 1:18 scalefags, because at least 1:18 collectors take advantage of the clearance and buy up all the stock. Shit like the Speeder Bike would sell out and never make it to clearance either.
