I made a couple of small modifications to the cockpit, just moved a couple of the consoles around and added another one.
What I think I'm going to do now, is grab another couple and Bricklink a bunch of parts to do some colour swaps. On the first one I'll replace all the outer black pieces with tan and brown to make it look like the original paint job (pic related).
On the second one, which will end up in my personal Lego fantasy garage/hanger, I'll replace all the black with red, except for the technic wings and the top air intakes, which I'll make white. That should give it an almost Starsky & Hutch style paint job, which will hopefully look really good.
