After Ultimate Race, Acceleracers was supposed to continue with a new focus on combat and the like, but in the end it was canned because Acceleracers was so popular that internal marketing guys were afraid it would outshine Hot Wheels itself. These action figures were some of what would've come out of this Acceleracers continuation, but they never saw the light of day. I and a bunch of other people are still mad about it, Acceleracers was the shit.
Some of the concepts left behind were apparently used for Battle Force 5, which needless to say was not as cool.
