The bigger part was that he wanted to consume all consciousness as well. He wanted to turn the known universe into a hivemind with him in the center, no free will allowed. But yeah, BM was never about being anti-tech; in fact, there was a whole plot point where Primal got called out by Cheetor because he misunderstood what the Oracle actually wanted. For life to survive on Cybertron, there needed to be a fusion between organic and mechanical - the new technorganic nature of things allowed for the new transformers to utilize other sources of energy and gave them the ability to reproduce without needing to use up so many non-replenishable resources.
