>>8118372you CONVENIENTLY forgot the other pages. You know, the part where Nightow outright admits, "they are very simple" when compared to Japanese figures. This means they were simple in either articulation, sculpt, paint or any combination of the above. Don't act like the man is 100% the reason for improved figures in Japan, they already had stuff like MSIA for good articulation and sculpt vs price before his inspiring of Nightow.
>>8118482>>8118496he isn't 100% wrong in this case, just highly overexageratting things as to be expected from subanon. McFarlane did have a direct inspiration on Nightow, who in turn worked with Kaiyodo which eventually led to the creation of Revoltech. The idea of releasing figures as part of an overarching line that all followed a set design philosophy like Figma, Figuarts, etc almost certainly all have their inspiration from revoltech thus indirectly having a sort of inspiration from McFarlane, but anyone who grew up obsessed with anime thanks to Toonami can likely remember seeing the really awesome figures(for the time at least) online that had no ties to Nightow or McFarlane. Japan was already innovating for figure designs, as transformers would be proof of that, McFarlane just helped inspire one dude who went on to redefine how figures get branded and released in japan.
