Its hustle culture and hustle culture is not permanent. I don't begrudge people for doing something on the side, but the people that make it their 'job' are cancer. They don't like things they like money. They just convince themselves they like things so they can make money off of it until it's not working for them anymore. Pandemic exacerbated this practice and now every facet of subculture is infected with scalpers pretending to be collectors scooping up everything. I used to be into thrifting and reselling stuff I thrifted that didn't fit me for a fair price, but once I saw people re-listing stuff they bought from me for 2X I lost all hope in this thing being just a space for people with shared interests. I buy what I like and if I don't want it anymore I'll sell it if it's worth something but most of it gets bulk sold to a local toy shop. I can't be bothered to care anymore. It really sucks if I can't get something I really want, but that's that. Maybe it's not worth the hassle. I just enjoy the things I can get.
