The way Bayformers are, is basically Autobots are a more intelligent human-like robotic race and the Decepticons are a more primitive animalistic race of semi intelligent monsters, of which only the higher chain of command display any intelligence at all. It also doesn't make sense when the narrative is supposed to be that these drooling dopes were the ones who took over Cybertron or whatever, really kind of kills the idea that the Autobots are the underdogs.

Why should action figures not come with badass accessories just because they weren't a big part of the show, everybody agrees they were badass, and so everyone wants it for their figure if possible. Transformers are cool, Transformers with guns are cooler, Transformers with guns and melee weapons are about the coolest you can get.
