If it's some type of publicity problem, the public can't tell the old ver and new ver apart, Eva merch is still found everywhere with more to come, including TV era stuff. And if it's because people at Kaiyodo not wanting to take sides with people they knew before they were even called Gainax, well too bad. They already picked Anno's side by continuing to make Eva figures. I haven't heard these Gainax remnants causing problems with Eva ownership now that they're completely out.
