I'm thinking the new face printing will be an excuse for them to re-pop a bunch of figures that already exist, but with better paint apps. I'd expect the new tech to appear in GI Joe when the line makes it's return, since Hasbro's getting a lot of mileage out of it in their Black Series and Marvel Legends lines. They're putting out higher end looking figures, rivaling some of the expensive import toys.
I'm currently most excited for the new Storm Trooper, which they said is indeed the 5poa Rogue One Trooper's head on the body. They 3D scanned an actual person in a Trooper outfit to get the likeness that good in the first place, so it needed to be on a high articulation figure eventually.
