>>10064660It's kind of a long story, but I'll explain.
>Was super broke and had no prospect in life, thought maybe getting a degree would help>Barely qualified for any financial aid, so could only afford to go to a cheap vocational school for a quicky 1-year degree.>Was going to study graphic design thinking that would be a good idea, tour the school first and learn they had a 3D printing lab>Had an idea>I wanted OOO merch but was so broke I couldn't afford shit and only owned a single core medal, a Rider 1 legend medal, but I wanted more>Thought I could 3D print more myself, they wouldn't be real medals but they'd be better than nothing, so I asked if students are allowed to use the lab>Only students in the engineering courses are allowed, said school also taught drafting, mechanical engineering, rapid prototyping, etc.>I check out the classes out of curiosity, and it's like a light goes off in my head>Fell in love with software and the program overall, what it was capable of, the possibilities>Change course and go for that instead>What followed were years of struggling to put my cheapo degree to good use, tons of shit gigs, freelance, and financial issues, even ended up homeless for a little while>But I built experience, got better and better, landed better jobs and built my reputation>A real engineering degree and multiple professional accreditations later, I'm now one of the lead engineering designers for a major medical company that makes titanium bone replacements for use in reconstructive surgery>All because I was overcome with desire for more medalsI've also got some strong nostalgia for Fourze as well, since having such an overwhelming good vibes positive show like that was a good way to keep my spirits up when I was living in my broken down car, but overall I realize had it not been for liking this show so much and wanting some cool coins, I wouldn't be where I am now. And I still have my first core medal.
