>>10811719Alongside new cavalry I've also been trying out some of the more interesting dismounted knights and other historical fighting men. Top left we have more Teutonic Knights and Knights of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre, with various other knights (Crusader and otherwise) below and to their right. Second row right-side are advertised as English Civil War soldiers; at least some generally fit the bill but in terms of weapons and armor they're a little all over the place, with Norman helms, Viking shields, German zweihanders and Hussite-style flails.
Bottom left are a trio of Roman infantry with three different animal skins for headgear and lightly armed (they're intended to be cornicines and also come with cornu and second print with cornu-blowing face), flanked by two different Kratos. Bottom right are ancient Egyptian infantry, for the most part ridiculously light-skinned and pale for their climes. They all have quite detailed muscle lines printing all over, even on their arms (even the black guys).
Thing I love most about a lot of these figs is the wide range of neat weaponry and gear they're equipped with; collecting lego-sized small arms is a sub-hobby for me in its own right and I'm really liking how each new wave of historical-themed soldiers gets new kit, rather than recycling classic lego weapons or stealing from third-party armorers like BrickWarriors and MinifigCat.
