I know there was a lot of controversy around those releases, but for fans of the late 90's early 2k's syndication, it was the first time it had been released affordably and consistently in the west. In fact it was the first time I was actually able to watch the entire series in japanses uncut start to finish.
The Budokai games were the only real accessible media prior to that. Damn makes me feel old being a DBZ fan for twenty years, lol.
