>>7497232It is funny but I have the same feelings towards Lego SW.
When it first came out it was by no means something bad because while it was not an original Lego theme it was "made in Lego form". That's how I'd refer to a lot of the things I built while growing up - trying to emulate some real life things in Lego form - "Lego X or Lego Y".
I also agree that basic brick-building was a lot less accurate to the original shape but also more friendly with children. Children require simple building techniques - with today's hyper specialized pieces and techniques I feel children get lost easily when they first disassemble a set to try and build something else.
I'm not saying you can't do it - I'm saying it's much harder with the assortment of pieces to get something else ( an alternate model) that's relatively easy to build.
SC is good, but I'm not a car fan.
A question to fellow builders - do you think we will see simpler, non hyper realistic builds ever again as a mainstream thing? ( Think Benny's Space Squad - but not as a one-off thing)
