Third kit. Tried removing nubs with a hobby knife this time, but ended up having to sand half of them down due to a cut finger.
So I guess if I'd have to rate the builds I've done so far,
MS 05 ZAKU I > RGM-79 Powered GM > RGM-79C GM Type C
My biggest issue with this build is that it does require additional painting out of the box. The hand guards are that nasty grey color, and the two white hand guards don't fit on the closed fist or the open fist for the beam saber. Also, the shin armor was flimsy as fuck and doing any leg poses basically caused the entire lower leg to fall apart, so I had to use thin cement to glue the three shin pieces
together.as well as the ankle guards. Arm joints below the shoulder feel weak as well, but I don't think they'll fall off or anything, just not as tight as I'd like them to be. Haven't been able to top coat him, since it's 3AM in murrikaland and it's too dark outside.
Gunna head down to the hobby shop tomorrow to see if they got any new kits in, and if they have a MG I might get it. Also going to check on how much they're selling paints for, because I think the 79C would look good with some acrylic wash weathering, which is apparently a very beginner friendly thing to do.
