I know I'm a wicked slowpoke on this, but I picked up Takara Sandstorm this week after waffling over this mold for 4 years. It's pretty amazing. It has some flaws, most notably the back kibble getting in the way of the arms and the ankles being a bit fickle, but they're extremely forgivable. Oh, and the gun is hot garbage, but I'm searching for replacement weapons for him.
I'm a fairly big supporter of modern figures, which have streamlined kibble and maximized transformation efficiency, but this is one of the few older figures that legit makes me miss the "golden age" of Generations. Mostly because of how creative it is. They could have just lazily repainted Springer in orange and yellow and it would have been "accurate" enough for them to hock, but this crazy-ass, Mad Max death-buggy with its absurd rear wheels and the completely original VTOL mode just make me giddy. It's the epitome of what Generations used to be, re-imagining old characters and making them fun again, instead of just doing the G1 toy again with better articulation.
