If all this guy has going for him is nostalgia for a defunct brand whose products are severely dated buy modern figure company products, he's already doomed. If you have to bank entirely on the coattails of someone else's success from years/decades back to get interest in your product pitch that doesn't bring anything truly new or exciting then you're gonna fail. If his designs were actually feasible and he ran the idea as his own indie line of action figures (preferably blank bodies) he might have some decent support. Of course, as others have noted, he's a single idea-guy who has no knowledge of the industry, marketing, advertising, and so forth, so this will die in the hanger or crash and burn while attempting to takeoff.
