It's a great way to allow both vehicle mode to stand out.
Like most flying alt modes though this one is just the robot mode lying down with alt mode stuff draped on top. He's less transformed now than he was a moment ago. But I'll hand it to the designers, the only piece of dune buggy bleeding over here are the front fenders.
Coming right at and saying it; I like T30 Sandstorm more than T30 Springer. More clever, more unique, and (at least on my copies) holds together way better too.
