There is no way they gave any thought to the lore implications of a frankenstein monster with the body of a teen girl, some body parts from men and some brain parts from adult men, women and teen men and women.
The people that make these decisions probably don't watch horror movies, read horror or scifi movies, know about gender kink stuff or lbgt stuff. its probably some 60 year old man drinking coffee in a suit thinking "how do we get d'm lbgt's to buy more product?"
personally, I like it. Its really slocky and trashy in a 1980s direct to vhs horror movie way. Like I can imagine some crap like this being played on a Saturday night on USA Up All Night. BUT its pretty cringe as a form of representation.
